Eliminate the usual difficulties that are associated with accessing couplers or shunts buried between cross ties in the middle of the track.   Interrail’s Shunt and Coupler Enclosure will provide easy access and high visibility for your shunt and coupler protection requirements.   By installing the shunt above ground and a safe distance from the track, delays and difficult accessibility are no longer an issue.   Once the correct shunt has been located and verified by the adhesive sticker on the shunt enclosure, unlock the cover and lift.   It’s that easy.  The Shunt and Coupler Enclosure is constructed of rugged schedule 40 PVC pipe. The shunt or coupler sits on a support bracket and is attached to the mounting post with sturdy tie wraps, making it a snap to check or replace, when necessary.   There is room enough inside for two couplers or shunts of 6” diameter or less.   The shunt enclosure may be ordered with surge protection and cable shield if desired.
